By the end of the two-day programme, participants will:
- be aware of the ten steps acknowledged as best practice in the art of negotiation
- have had practice in simulations and in the workplace
- have raised and explored specific issues from their own experience
- have had the opportunity to form networking partnerships with the other participants
- have comprehensive reference material to use for post-programme guidance
- have an attendance certificate for their CPD portfolio
Facilitator
The programme is led by interpersonal skills specialist Derek Norval, a regular facilitator for the Chartered Management Institute and numerous organisations in both the public and private sectors.
Content
Day 1
- Ten key steps of negotiation
- How to say ‘No‘ without destroying relationships
- Using the right language
- A look at non-verbal communication
Day 2
- Shared experience of using skills learnt in Day 1
- Small groups seek solutions to pitfalls
- Facilitator guidance on individual issues
- Brief look at conflict resolution
Put the learning into practice between the two dates, with helpline support.
